About the Band: Carter Minor has delighted audiences across the country for 45 years as a Blues, Jazz, R&B and gospel vocalist who also plays harmonica, bass and saxophone. Bass and Guitarist Ed Moon, played for many years in his native Nashville before moving to NC. He has played with a variety of musicians including ZZ Hill. Organist Sam Obie has played Blues, Jazz, and Gospel for decades. Including working as a musical Director for Gospel Legend Shirley Ceasar. Guitarist, Bassist and Songwriter Charlley Ward has played Blues, R&B and Pop since 1970. His Band, The Bull City Blues Band, reached the semifinals of the international Blues Challenge twice. The group is rounded out by Drummer Lorry Taylor, acknowledged as one of the best drummers in the state of North Carolina.
The members of the group are united in their love of Blues music and dance. They are excited to play for Embrace The Blues!
Venue: The Old Murphey School offers a nostalgic charm that puts you at ease when you walk through the door. The 2500 square foot wooden floored auditorium makes a wonderful dance venue.
NOTES ABOUT PARKING: Parking 78 parking spaces are available on the SVRC gravel lot. There is some overflow parking available in the grass in the front of the school. Please carpool as much as possible to avoid overflow parking.
