DURHAM — The Triangle Blues Society has chosen Jon Shain & FJ Ventre’s “Never Found a Way to Tame the Blues” as the “Best Self Produced CD” as part of its annual Triangle Blues Challenge.
The Triangle Blues Society (TBS) will send the CD for consideration at the International Blues Challenge, to be held Jan. 18-22 in Memphis, Tenn.
Because of concerns about the recent surge in Covid-19 cases, The Triangle Blues Society postponed the competition portion of its annual Triangle Blues Challenge until 2022.
TBS holds a blues challenge every year to select a band and a solo/duo act to represent the organization at the annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Fundraisers by TBS during their “Road to Memphis” events help the musicians with their travel and lodging expenses.
The Triangle Blues Society is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that promotes and supports blues music. The society, an affiliate of The Blues Foundation, presents live blues in weekly and monthly (first Saturday) jams.
