The Triangle Blues Society’s next monthly jam is set for Sept. 24, from 5-8 p.m. at the Speakeasy in Carrboro. Hosts are Scott Larid and Larry Myers.
The application deadline is also fast approaching for the 2023 Triangle Blues Challenge, to be held in October at the Blue Note Grill in Durham. The challenge is a local blues competition with two categories, solo/duo and band. Winners earn the right to travel to Memphis, TN, to further compete next January in the 39th International Blues Challenge. Funds raised by the Triangle Blues Society help underwrite their trip.

The Triangle Blues Society will also be on hand for the Blue Note Grill’s regular Tuesday night blues jam on Sept. 5. Look for membership sign-up opportunities, TBS merch and a 50/50 drawing, along with special announcements about the Triangle Blues Challenge and other upcoming events.
Mark your calendars now for monthly Triangle Blues Society blues jams into the fall: 2-5 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Moondog Meadery in Durham with host Jessica-Michelle Hall Duo. November’s jam will be held from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Speakeasy in Carrboro. The December TBS jam returns to Moondog Meadery in Durham, from 2-5 p.m. Dec. 17.
