2018 Triangle Blues Society Blues Challenge: Announcing our Competitors
Durham, NC – Triangle Blues Society (TBS) will hold the 2018 Triangle Blues Challenge on Sunday, August 5, 2018, 4-8pm at the Blue Note Grill in Durham, NC. Tickets are $10 for non-TBS members, $8 for TBS members, and are available at the door.
The TBS Blues Challenge is a local blues competition in two categories – solo/duo and band. Winners earn the right to travel to Memphis, TN, to further compete in the 35th International Blues Challenge (IBC) held January 22-26, 2019. The IBC is sponsored by The Blues Foundation (BF) and consists of winners from affiliate societies worldwide.

More than half (at least 51%) of any performing group must be legal residents of North Carolina and members of the Triangle Blues Society as of July 24, 2018.
After the winners are announced, TBS works with them throughout the process to raise the money to support their travel to the IBC.
Triangle Blues Society (TBS), a 501 (c3) organization, is an all-volunteer non-profit organization working together to support, promote, and grow blues music in the Raleigh-Durham Chapel Hill North Carolina area. TBS has been an affiliate of the Blues Foundation since 1996.
